First and Last

back

Is part one of a major trilogy of projects looking at the nuclear age. First and Last looks at the ceremonies taking place in Hiroshima and Nagasaki during August 1995 to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the dropping of the A-bombs on these cities (Hiroshima August 6th 8:15am and Nagasaki August 9th 11:02am). Rather than concentrating on the politicians and speechmakers the work looks instead to the quiet moments of contemplation as people gather to remember those who perished.
